I grew up in a quiet little suburb near the city of Leiden, spending much of my childhood in the fantastical worlds detailed in Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels as well as games such as Magic the Gathering. These I enjoyed as much for the artwork as for the game itself. While my love of drawing was apparent from a young age, I initially decided to pursue my second love of the sciences and get a degree in Physical Geography. By my final year however, my interest in the arts was rekindled by exposure to artists such as Frank Frazetta and Catherine Jones, as well as the animations of studio Ghibly. Several years later I walked out of the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht, a freshly minted master of animation.
Currently I’m living in Amsterdam, pursuing a life as a freelance animator and illustrator.
Education: Master of Arts in Creative Design for Digital Cultures at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht.
